Macro synthetic fibers for concrete reinforcement have a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.2%.

A paradigm shift from traditional steel bars to smart fibers.

From the way the concrete of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai incorporates polypropylene macrofibers to withstand desert temperature fluctuations, to the way polyvinyl alcohol fibers are used to improve crack resistance in the runways of Kansai Airport in Japan, to the way steel fiber reinforcement is used to achieve a century of durability in the immersed tunnel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in China – macro synthetic fibers for concrete reinforcement (MSFCR) are reshaping the global construction industry at an annual growth rate of 8.5%.

These polymer fibers, with a diameter of 0.3-3mm and a length of 30-60mm, improve concrete's crack resistance by 3-5 times by bridging microcracks and inhibiting plastic shrinkage, while reducing steel bar usage by 20-40%.

It is estimated that if the global penetration rate of MSFCR were to increase from the current 12% to 30%, steel consumption could be reduced by 120 million tons annually, equivalent to 8% of global steel production capacity.

When every piece of concrete is embedded with smart fibers, buildings will no longer be cold matter, but a living, sustainable ecosystem.
