Advantages and disadvantages of basalt fibers and steel bars
Basalt fiber
1、 Strength
Compared to steel fibers, basalt fibers have slightly lower strength. However, in situations of frequent impact or vibration, the impact resistance and seismic resistance of basalt fibers are superior to those of steel fibers. Therefore, in some special situations, basalt fibers can replace steelfibers and achieve better results.
2、 Corrosion resistance
Steel fibers are prone to rusting, leading to a reduction in the internal space of the components, thereby reducing the strength of the steel fibers. Basalt fiber is an inorganic fiber that is almost unaffected by external environments such as seawater and acid-base, and has good corrosion resistance.
3、 Environmental protection
Basalt fiber is an environmentally friendly material that can be recycled without causing pollution to the environment. However, the production, processing, and recycling of steel fibers generate a large amount of waste materials, wastewater, and exhaust gases, which have a significant impact on the environment.
