Advantages of polypropylene fiber reinforced gypsum board

Gypsum board is mainly made of building gypsum as the main raw material. Because of its light weight, high strength, thin thickness, easy processing, fire prevention, sound insulation, convenient construction and other characteristics, it is widely used in today's buildings.

Gypsum products have large porosity, so the thermal conductivity is small, sound absorption is strong, moisture absorption is large, which can adjust the indoor humidity and temperature. At the same time, the texture of gypsum products is white and delicate. When setting, it does not shrink as lime and cement. Instead, it has expansion (about 1%) and can pour out fine-grained relief ornaments. Therefore, it is a good interior decoration material. It has the characteristics of fire prevention, heat insulation, light weight, high strength, small shrinkage rate, good stability, no aging and insect resistance. It can be constructed by nailing, sawing, planing and sticking. It is widely used in ceiling, partition wall, interior wall and veneer. Gypsum board is characterized by light weight, heat insulation, incombustible, sawable and nailed, and beautiful.

But gypsum board also has its own insurmountable shortcomings, that is, brittle texture, easy to break. In order to mention the flexibility and bending resistance of gypsum board, glass fiber, basalt fiber, polyester fiber, polypropylene fiber and other products will be added. Among them, polypropylene fiber can improve the bending resistance of gypsum board.

Polypropylene fiber is also light, strong, corrosion-resistant, with good flexibility and ductility. Adding polypropylene fiber into gypsum board can greatly improve the bending resistance and flexibility of gypsum board.
