Performance of Basalt continuous fiber

Date:2021-03-31 17:31:59 Author:小编 Click:

1. Outstanding tensile strength

The tensile strength of basalt fiber is 3800 ~ 4800 MPa, which is higher than that of carbon fiber, aramid fiber, PBI fiber, steel fiber, boron fiber and alumina fiber, and is equivalent to s glass fiber.

2. Outstanding temperature resistance

The temperature range of basalt fiber is - 269 ~ 700 ℃ (960 ℃) and glass fiber is - 60 ~ 450 ℃. Its softening point is 960 ℃. When the basalt fiber is operated at 400 ℃, its breaking strength can maintain 85%; when it works at 600 ℃, its breaking strength can still maintain 80% of its original strength; if basalt fiber is pretreated at 780-820 ℃, the fiber can work at 860 ℃ without shrinkage. Even the excellent mineral wool can only maintain 50% - 60% strength at this time, and the glass wool is completely broken. The oxidation resistance of carbon fiber is poor, CO and CO2 are produced at 300 ℃, and the service temperature of meta aramid fiber is only 250 ℃

3. Natural silicate compatibility

The basalt fiber drawn from the volcanic extrusive rock of the same silicate has strong acid and alkali resistance. It is found that the high durability of concrete can be maintained in the construction of high strength concrete. Taking advantage of the high tensile strength and shear strength of basalt fiber, as well as the affinity and alkali resistance of basalt fiber with cement and concrete, its application in the field of building reinforcement has shown its unique advantages and development potential.

4. Outstanding chemical stability

The composition of K2O, MgO and TiO2 in basalt fiber plays an important role in improving the chemical corrosion resistance and waterproof performance of basalt fiber. After boiling for 3 hours, continuous basalt fiber and E glass fiber lost 0.2% and 0.7% respectively in water, 2.75% and 6.0% in 2n NaOH solution, and only 2.2% and 38.9% in 2n HCl. The acid resistance of basalt fiber is better than that of ECR glass fiber, which is commonly used as reinforcement of acid resistant FRP.

5. Significant thermal stability

The thermal vibration stability of basalt fiber remains unchanged at 500 ℃, and the original weight loss is less than 2%, and only 3% at 900 ℃.

6. Good dielectric properties

Continuous basalt fiber also has good dielectric properties. Its volume resistivity is one order of magnitude higher than that of E glass fiber; basalt contains less than 20% conductive oxide. Conductive oxide fibers have not been used to prepare insulating materials in the past, but the dielectric loss tangent of basalt fibers treated with special wetting agent is 50% lower than that of glass fibers, which can be used to manufacture new heat-resistant dielectric materials.

7. Excellent wave transmission performance and certain absorbing property
